A national RYA event offering free, short ‘have a go’ sailing taster sessions. We plan 30 minute rowing and sailing sessions on the estuary. Allow an hour with check-in, briefing and debriefing. Open to able-bodied first time and lapsed boaters of all ages. Bring a change of clothes plus wellies or old shoes and come prepared to get you and your feet a bit wet.

You can bring your own BBQ in the park for sailors and landlubbers. You bring the food and drink and the RABC Will provide the charcoal and matches.

We’ll run a club session before, and go footle in the estuary, dragging the innocent members of the public on board whenever we can. It will also be possible to take a ride in a sailing craft.

This will not be possible without you. We would need a crew of 2-3 and of course we can take turns.

The plan for the event is as follow:
People will book a time slot online, check in at the marquee in Pease's Park, sign disclaimer forms,
don floatation devices, have a briefing, get allocated to a boat (with under 18s accompanied) and
will then be led to the launching ramp for boarding.
The skipper then has their procedure to follow including VHF contact and a safety boat. Punters are
met 30 mins later when the shore crew take the next batch to each boat.
They are they taken back to the BBQ for a soft sell on membership and an information pack to take away.

The Pride Of Aln would row round to the estuary and then fit in with that process.
