Alnmouth Regatta 9 April 2017

What a fantastic day this was. Sun, sea and Barbecue with the occasional rowing. The Bridge skiff race was brilliant – a “le Mans” start from the beach and a time trial to the bridge and back. Coquet Spirit came first, followed  by the Pride of Aln with 2 new rowers on board (welcome!), and the Coquet Venture hot on its heels. Insider information admitted that the winning boat had a “pie powered engine in it”.  We hope to see more times posted by other crews this season – 31 minutes to beat!

The afternoon row was much more of a social event for most as Richard, Christine and Rhoda  were on a spying mission after successfully and discretely(or not) infiltrating the Amble crew.

Thank you for all who put their time in organising today, the weather (glorious)  the rowing, the extensive catering, the barbecue,  all the catering and everyone who brought food and drink, helped serve it, and clear away afterwards.

A special big thank you to Amble and Blyth for attending which, as always, is a real pleasure to host.
